In this part of the work, we are dealing with the idea of disappearance. First, the very notion of Going Black is the notion of dealing with ourselves in the mortality of being. For at the back of our heads, at the back of our reasoning, at the back of every activity that we are involved in, we are also keenly aware of slowly and gradually, moving towards Going Black. The blackness of nothingness, the blackness of nonexistence, a return to the blackness before, where we came from. In other words, we are always dealing with Going Black as death. Also, the fading of memory, when things accumulate and become heavy on themselves until finally what is seen and felt are only impressions of what was, or is. They become bodies going dark and forms going dark, disappearing into nothingness, where there is no longer anything to remember or to see. When knowledge itself disappears into nothing. In this collection, as the viewer watches and sees the piece, the work at the same time disappearing. The experience of it is disappearing while at the same time, memories are forming. So that going dark is really a statement of nowness, where in the now, the past arrives as a disappearing act into the future, and the future starts as a beginning form moving back again into a disappearing past, so that now, the moment that we all possess and cherish, is a moment of Going Black.
